Simon Marvell
Managing Director
Simon Marvell is a serial entrepreneur in the risk management industry. On graduating from Loughborough University in 1983 he joined the UK’s first specialist risk management and security consultancy team, at BIS led by Ken Wong. In 1991 he founded Insight Consulting and, over a period of 13 years, developed it into one of the UK’s most successful risk management service companies before selling the business to Siemens, the German electronics giant.
Simon formed Acuity Risk Management with two partners in 2005 to address the market need for flexible, easy to use Enterprise compliance and risk management software solutions. Under Simon’s leadership, in less than two years Acuity had developed its STREAM portfolio of products and secured blue-chip clients in multiple business sectors for a variety of risk applications.
Throughout his career as a consultant, manager and business owner, Simon has been committed to excellence in both product quality and customer service.
Richard Mayall
Director of Technology and Applications
Richard Mayall has 25 years’ experience in high assurance real-time software engineering, information security and risk management. Before establishing Acuity in 2005, Richard led the information security consultancy practice at Insight Consulting, having developed the company’s services and methods over many years.
Under Richard’s technical leadership, Acuity evolved STREAM from proof of concept to deployed solution within two years.
Richard manages STREAM's product design, development, documentation and testing. He advises on all aspects of STREAM technical deployment and interfacing with monitoring systems, including installation, SQL Server configuration and secure operation, integration with Active Directory, Systems Centre Configuration Manager and other relevant technologies.
Outside Acuity, Richard is a guest lecturer at the University of London for their Information Security Master of Science programme.
